When a person who is registered for VAT imposes input tax on the business expenditures that they pay, this tax can be reclaimed in its whole if it corresponds to a taxable supply that the qualified person has made or intends to make in the future. On the other hand, if the expense was incurred in connection with a non-taxable supply, such as exempt supplies, the registered person is not eligible to recoup the input tax that they paid.
