Questions people ask

What does the compliance health check cover?

VAT and corporate tax registration and filing, audited accounts, the beneficial owner (UBO) register, e-invoicing, goAML registration for businesses under anti-money laundering supervision, and record keeping.

Does every UAE company need an audit?

Not every one. Every mainland LLC must have its accounts audited each year under the Commercial Companies Law, many free zones require audited accounts, and corporate tax requires them for revenue over AED 50 million and for every Qualifying Free Zone Person.

What is a UBO register?

A record of the people who ultimately own or control a company: anyone with 25% or more of its capital or votes, or control by other means. Mainland and commercial free zone companies keep one, file it with their licensing authority within 60 days of licensing, and report changes within 15 days.

Do I still need to file economic substance reports?

No, not for financial years ending after 31 December 2022: Cabinet Decision No. 98 of 2024 cancelled the requirement. Obligations for earlier years still stand.

Who must register on goAML?

Designated non-financial businesses and professions, including real estate brokers and agents, dealers in precious metals and stones, accountants and auditors, and company and trust service providers. The Ministry of Economy and Tourism supervises them on the mainland and in commercial free zones, and they must register straight away.

Is my information sent anywhere?

No. The check runs in your browser. Your answers reach us only if you ask us to call you, or send them to us on WhatsApp.
